MASTERING LIFE ON THE PATH Of BAST and MAAT
First you start by coming to one of our Public/Open meetings found here on the calendar. This allows us both to introduce each other in person and get a better feel of what and who we are. As much as we'd like to open our arms to the world, there are far too many trouble makers who have yet to find true enlightenment of their own selves. No, it is not our job to solve the psychosis and drama of the arrogant and weak minded.
We can acquire much information from books, lectures, classes, etc, and we may even discover some very useful techniques for improving certain aspects of our life. This approach to self improvement seems to be incomplete: most books, lectures, etc. seem to focus on one aspect of life, be it prosperity, love, healing, magic, etc. Focusing on one area of spiritual study doesn't seem to provide a balanced development.
The House of Light system of spiritual growth and healing provides a foundation that unites all the different aspects of metaphysical study and allows experiences of their interconnectedness. Understanding all aspects of life and the natural laws that govern all realms will lead to true healing, prosperity and peace of mind. These realms include the physical, mental, emotional, psychic/astral, spiritual, soul and deity among others. We study the higher Wisdom that empowers us to find answers to all that life encompasses; the workings of the universe, the inner-relationship of all realms of life, our higher purpose, and how it all fits into the cycle of the cosmic mind we know as 'God/dess'.
Our Alchemist teachings come from all over the world, from different times and philosophies, and are directed toward the truths of the universe and healing of self and helping others. We believe we are here to learn, experience, share, and to heal the spirit and soul--raising our Vibrations to our highest levels within reach to anyone. We study cosmic intelligence and how their law governs all of creation and how to work within those laws to become at-one with the Creative Principle.
The HOL Alchemist teachings are incorporated into a system of healing, mysticism, mythology, alchemy, science, hermetic, and religious philosophy. This encourages us to be open-minded, questioning and to test the value of the lessons we are learning by actively using them in day to day life.
Ours is an Egyptian based philosophy of healing and alchemy while walking a path of Maat (Goddess of Truth). We see all life as sacred, all peoples as union of male and female within the physical vehicle we chose for this reality. This can be a difficult spiritual path, but anyone who agrees to improve their quality of life, must be willing to endure the trials of past actions with an open mind and willingness to learn and change: becoming a master of their life and capable of positively affecting circumstances and energies around them for the betterment of all concerned.
The HOL teachings incorporate both metaphysics and mysticism. .Metaphysics is that wich is beyond the 5 senses ---intuition, visualization, and healing techniques. Mysticism is the process by which you may eventually experience direct, conscious union with the Absolute, Divine Consciousness or what you may perceive as "the Creator”, God.
You are not expected to accept anything on Faith. Although you will find a faith of your own, W e employ you to think for yourself; to learn how to draw upon the higher knowledge already within you. We provide the tools to enable you to accomplish this.
First year studies: considered the Path of the Neophyte
We touch the surface of many aspects of spirituality and self healing. The classes are designed to open your mind for spiritual enlightenment and growth.
Some of the areas of study are:
- Basics of Earth elemental studies through the use of the pentagram and evocation.
- Planetary influences
- Sympathetic magic
- Psychology of Ritual, ceremony
- Self-healing techniques
- Meditation
- Mythology
- Kabbalah
- Energy recognition and manipulation
- Color energy and chakras
- Divination
- We study the ways of Wicca-Paganism, Judaism, and Buddhism, and others
- We celebrate the cycles of the Earth, Sun, and Moon
- Reiki is incorporated--suggested, but not required
- ...and other modalities of self-improvement
After you have completed this course of studies, which is 'required classes' "just like in college credit courses, you may dedicate to continue your studies, or continue your 'search'. We ask that those who "wish to participate in studies with HOL dedicate themselves to those studies. This is a dedication to your higher self, to give yourself a chance for growth on this path. To us ours is not an easy path, for the healer-teacher-minister must master much in order to help another.

Initiations are more akin to Cobra breath and Dragon energy initiations.. These are required, especially if you pursue Reiki, Kundalini and StarFire energies with us. These healing techniques are very helpful in obtaining higher awareness, enlightenment and mastering your own destiny.
By the time one finishes the second level of studies, they are prepared and ready to teach classes if so desired or lead in ritual and healing circles. This is usually when one knows if they are desiring to lead or heal others.
The third level of studies: Second Degree-Priestess or Priest
- We get into the higher aspects of healing techniques such as Mayan sacred geometry
- Work one on one with the Cosmic Intelligence
- How to write a spiritual or healing class and teach it
- Laws of the Universe
- Egyptian and Tibetan Tantra yoga magic
- Ministering to the people (we are referring to healing people not preaching to them)
EGYPTIAN INNER TEMPLE TEACHINGS - Fourth Level
The fourth level teachings are for those who wish to pass on the tradition of HOL and encompass many secret teachings from different philosophies of belief systems. We call this the High Priestess or High Priest or just Master.
Throughout the courses of study we observe Nature in all her forms. HOL is not just a spiritual path, or school, church, or healing center, it is a Way of Living the “Great Work” of alchemy that we want to share with others.
Requirements:
Quest for knowledge, universal truth, and spiritual growth
We do insist that you are sincere in your studies and energy exchange. Desire to heal self and others, to teach, or to minister
Dues: to be discussed----grace period no more than 3 months--discontinue studies until they become current for Active participation in HOL.
Why do we charge dues? Do you think the ink cartridges to print and the papers copies we hand out for your book of shadows are free? Or how about all those cups of coffee and other things that make ya go Hummmmm? No, it's not a screw-job so keep your negative thoughts to yourself. Some of us have tight budgets and try not to complain.
Equal energy exchange
Vampires and other energy depleting entities just are not allowed. This breaks the first rule of the universe--- for every action there is an EQUAL and opposite reaction. Right action is difficult to accomplish until the source is ready to see and acknowledge the wrong action being done. This seems to be a subject that all spiritual groups find touchy so we won't go there until the student is ready. (Ethical vampirism 101)
